We are very sad to hear that Jody Deamer of the Bouddi Gallery in Killcare will be closing the doors for good on 25th February 2024. Sadly and reluctantly after 16 years the gallery will only operate via an online website and perhaps the occasional pop up store.
Jody will continue to support the raising of awareness of Indigenous issues but in a different form than Bouddi Gallery. Community support has enabled the gallery to survive from a 3 month pop up to a 16+ year old business supporting not for profit Aboriginal Art Centres. While incredibly grateful for this support, decreasing sales and increasing overheads have led to this decision.
Jody invites the community to share drinks at 3pm on 25 February to celebrate the community’s support of the gallery and its contributions to remote Aboriginal communities.
